Meet the team

John Evans

I have been helping patients with their health and well-being as an Osteopath since 2004. I have also been working with Oxford Brookes University and Swansea University to help train new Osteopaths and pass on my enthusiasm for the discipline as a lecturer in Osteopathy, Biomechanics & Anatomy since 2009.

Prior to completing my degree and qualifying as an Osteopath I was employed as a qualified fitness instructor and personal trainer, which gave me an interesting insight into how the human body functions when put under stress. This along with my extensive experience in the health care field has enabled me to provide extensive rehabilitation programmes for many patients. Thanks to our facilities here at THE Medical, we are now able to put these programmes into immediate effect and provide close supervision when required.

I have continually built on my knowledge through on-going professional development, in particular training in advanced rehabilitation. This alongside my time as an Osteopath, fitness instructor and university lecturer has enabled me to incorporate all of my knowledge in to the management of pain and rehabilitation. Using this expertise I have also developed a new approach to treatment, that of 'Water Osteopathy. I am now teaching these techniques and principles to many other Osteopaths.

I have experience working with a vast range of patients from all backgrounds and presenting with differing complaints. I am proficient at helping those at varying levels of ability from babies through to the elderly, from elite athletes through to those with chronic disabilities and I am confident in saying that all of my patients always receive the same expert level of care.

Steph Evans

Steph is a fully registered Osteopath having qualified from the European School of Osteopathy with a BSc (Hons) Ost degree and has accumulated over 10 years of clinical experience. Prior to her Osteopathy training, Steph also gained a BSc (Hons) degree in Physiology and Pharmacology (Bio-sciences) at Leicester University. Through her experience working from busy multidisciplinary clinics in London & Worcester, she has developed advanced paediatric & musculo-skeletal skills and has a large patient base consisting of babies, children and sports injuries.

To share her knowledge and enthusiasm for Osteopathy Steph has run a multitude of CPD courses for other Osteopaths focusing on areas such as: technique, physiology, pharmacology of common drugs, and a best practice approach to treating babies. Steph is also a clinic tutor and associate lecturer at Oxford Brookes University and has been successfully teaching and mentoring undergraduate Osteopathy students for over three years. Since relocating her own practice to South Marston Steph is excited to have the facilities to be able to offer full rehabilitation and help to support people who are experiencing difficulties arising from sporting injuries through to stroke survivors.

Steph enjoys helping a variety of patients but has particular interest in maternity, post-partum and paediatric patients, especially since having her own children which has given Steph an insight into her patients' experiences and enables her to provide an empathic approach to their treatment.
